maintrac^® - drug testing

maintrac^® makes it possible to determine the effectiveness of cytotoxic drugs (such as chemotherapeutic agents) before the treatment. For this, the CETCs from the patient's blood sample are mixed with the active agent to be tested. Over the course of approximately 12 hours, it becomes apparent whether or not and to what extent the tumour cells are dying under the drug treatment (see image). Even during therapy, drug testing can be carried out and the drug with the highest probability of being effective for the patient individually can be found.

This increases the patient's chances of receiving therapy that will be successful in the long term; unnecessary treatments with adverse side effects can at best be avoided.
